As the Covid 19 pandemic continues to spread, it seems almost inevitable that it will reach our community. This is a very contagious virus and has already proven itself to be present within some of our surrounding counties. With that being said, we feel that it is important that we, as a community, prepare ourselves for its arrival here. If we can all be prepared and have a well thought out plan, we can help to treat the ill and contain the virus as much as possible.
  • First off, DO NOT PANIC!
  • Continue to use precautionary measures that we have all been using:
    • Practice social distancing
    • Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly
    • If you do have to sneeze or cough, be sure to cover your mouth/nose, preferably with your shirt or arm if possible.
    • Clean “high-touch” surfaces frequently
  • If you do develop symptoms such as a cough, fever (temperature of 100.4F or higher), shortness of breath or flu-like aches and pains, GO HOME, STAY HOME and call your doctor. They will give you instructions about what to do next. Do NOT go to a doctor’s office or hospital.
  • If you have been exposed to someone who has been CONFIRMED to have Covid 19, GO HOME, STAY HOME, self isolate and call your doctor. They or the state health officials will tell you what to do next. Most cases can recover at home, so DO NOT PANIC!
  • If you have been exposed to someone who THINKS that they may have Covid 19, GO HOME, STAY HOME and DO NOT PANIC. Call your doctor if you develop any symptoms, do NOT go to a doctor’s office or hospital.
We know that this is a stressful time for everyone, but we are a community that takes care of one another. If we can instill these measures, we can help to ensure that anyone who is sick can be cared for and we can do our part to help stop the spread of this virus. We will continue to provide updates as often as we can.
